To run a successful program we need parent volunteers. Those families unable to volunteer will be required to pay a $50 donation.

Here's a quick list of the positions available and a small description of what each entails.

Coaches and Co-coaches

Without enough coaches teams need to be larger and therefore playing time and touches on the ball decrease significantly. There is no need to be a soccer pro to coach in the house league. We have booklets available and training is available to those who would like it, at no charge. The focus is on having fun and learning a love for the game. You will need to be available for a majority of the scheduled nights. You will be teamed with a co-coach to help you on the field and take over when commitments force you to be away.

Managers

Managers are the off field coaches. It is your job to convey all information to the team through email and phone calls. If the coach cancels a game it's you who informs the team. You provide the schedule and assign snack duty. Without you the team is lost. This is a great position for someone more comfortable off the field.

Equipment Volunteers

Got an air compressor? Can you count to 12? If you answered yes to either question this may be the position for you. There are two occasions where equipment volunteers are needed: distributing the equipment and handling the equipment return. These happen on specific days and require only a few hours. Those with air compressors are helpful for the distribution period as the balls tend to need some inflation after the winter.

Picture Volunteers

This position requires you only to spend a couple hours at the Soccer Centre on picture day assisting the photographers by telling players where to wait.

Field Volunteers

Those white lines don't grow into the grass on their own and once we've put them down the city will undoubtedly power rake them off. If you like long walks in the park maybe you could push a line painter while you're doing it. Again this only requires a few hours of time. The lines need to be put down three times in the season.

Wrap-up Volunteer

The biggest day of the season needs a few people to iron the wrinkles. Food, drinks, pictures and medals don't hand themselves out!

Volunteer As Needed

There may be an odd job not listed, or we may not get enough people in one of the listed categories. Either way if you select this you may be asked step up. Please consider selecting at least one of the listed categories in addition to this one so we know your preferences. We will not randomly assign duties to those in this category, we will ask them if they can fulfil duties which we are at a lack of volunteers for.
